Following the arrival of La Liga News UK’s Young Player of the Year 17/18 winner Rodri from Villarreal, Atletico Madrid are looking to continue their transfer activity by signing Edinson Cavani and Suso.
Mundo Deportivo have reported that Atleti are back in for Cavani having been close to securing his signature two years ago. The newspaper believes that the 31 year-old, along with his brother and representative Walter Guglielmone have already met with club representatives in the Spanish capital.
The Uruguayan, who extended his contract with the Parisian club last year until 2020, has been in outstanding form since his arrival from Napoli in 2013. Last season he scored 40 goals in 47 appearances as well as nearly averaging a goal a game in the 16/17 season, grabbing 49 in 50 games.
To keep with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play, it is thought that PSG would be looking to sell a number of players after spending over €400 million on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe last summer.
Cavani isn’t the only player Los Colchoneros are looking at, with AS reporting that the club are also in contact with AC Milan in regards to the signing of Cádiz born Suso.
The 24 year-old, who arrived at the San Siro from Liverpool, was the club’s fourth top goal scorer last season, grabbing eight, as well as recording 14 assists, the most provided by a Milan player.
The Spaniard’s form for I Rossoneri hasn’t gone unnoticed in his home country, with the winger making his international debut for Spain in November’s 3-3 draw with Russia.
