West Ham United have shown interest in signing Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, according to a report.
Inter Milan were hoping to negotiate a lower fee than the agreed €35 million clause in the six month loan deal that saw the midfielder play for the Italian side last season, but that appears to be a non-starter as the Catalan club are unlikely to budge from the original offer, especially considering that their plan during the summer will be raising up to €100 million in transfer sales.
His last few seasons at Barcelona were filled with injuries. However, the Brazilian seems to have found a consistent form during his time in Italy and that has led to interest from a number of other clubs, including the Hammers.
Having missed out on Joao Cancelo, who was on loan from Valencia – Inter will now face a tough decision on whether or not to splash the cash on the midfielder, whose brother, Thiago, plays for Bayern Munich.
Dependent on Barca’s stance, Inter may well look to offload some of their current midfield to make funds for the signing of Rafinha.
But they will have to hurry as interest from the English club is now gathering pace – having seen Diario Sport report that Hammers’ officials flew into Barcelona on Thursday to discuss a potential deal.
