English midfielder Marcus McGuane has said he is determined to prove his worth at Barcelona.
He arrived at the Camp Nou in a move from Premier League side Arsenal and was given a chance in the club’s B team.
However, things have not been easy for the young English talent, having found the adaptation of the league hard, coupled with the B teams poor form and subsequent relegation to the third tier.
McGuane, 19, therefore has now been linked with a move away from the club, preferably not wanting to drop down Segunda B, where Barca’s B side will be hoping to bounce straight back to La Liga 123.
Whilst some reports have followed, it is now being reported by Sport and the player himself, that he would prefer to stay and prove himself at the club.
The midfielder is waiting for an England call-up this summer as the U19 side prepare for the European Championships, after which – he will return to the Catalan region to being pre-season training.
The teenager wants to succeed at Barça B and is happy with García Pimienta, a coach that has a good history with young players.
McGuane, who made his first team debut in the Catalan Super Cup in February – began his career with Arsenal.
