Watford have completed the signing of Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona, it has been confirmed by both clubs over the weekend.
The 23-year-old Spanish international featured just five times last season for Barca after returning to the Camp Nou and saw his playing time further diminish following the arrival of both Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho – allowing him to have a six month spell with the English side.
The former Everton man had been discussing a move with Italian duo AC Milan and Napoli, whilst Inter Milan have also been labelled with interest.
However, despite that interest, both Barca and Watford confirmed that a deal had been agreed and the winger has now turned his loan deal into a permanent one.
The clubs have confirmed an agreement of €13m (£11.5m) for the 24-year-old, with Barca receiving a percentage of any future sale.
Deulofeu scored twice in 17 games in the Premier League last season, and is coached by former Malaga boss Javi Gracia, who was appointed boss in January.
His exit from Barca is expected to be followed by a whole host of players, including Marlon, Rafinha, Andre Gomez, Paco Alcacer and Aleix Vidal – who are all discussing moves away from the Catalan club.
