Barcelona recall Marlon from Nice… and aim to sell himJune 14, 2018
Barcelona have exercised their right to recall centre back Marlon Santos from Ligue 1 side Nice but the Catalan club don’t plan on keeping the defender with numerous clubs interested in his signature.
Marlon moved to Nice last summer on a two year loan deal with the French side having a purchase option of 25 million euros but there was a clause allowing Barca to recall the player after one year as they have.
Nice were interested in signing the Brazilian but tried to bargain with the La Liga side but Barcelona were not willing to accept due to Marlon’s performances for their B side as well as his season in France increasing his price.
One of those teams is West Ham United with the English Premier League side the current favourites to sign the 22-year old.
The Hammers have been in contact with the Camp Nou side over the possibility of signing the defender who is believed to have reached an agreement on contract terms with the London club.
However, the two clubs haven’t yet been able to agree on a price. Barcelona want at least 20 million euros but West Ham aren’t yet reaching the 20 million euro mark. The last offer was believed to be in the region of 15-18 million euros.
Barcelona hope to have the whole situation sorted before the start of pre season but they won’t rule it out with most of the squad on World Cup duty.
