Valencia have signed Serbian under-21 international Uros Racic on a four year deal from FK Red Star Belgrade.
The two clubs agreed on an undisclosed fee which sees the 20-year old move to the Mestalla on a four year deal with a 100 million euro buyout clause.
Six foot four Racic is normally used as a defensive player but can play in a more davnced midfield and has been one of the first names on the teamsheet at Crvena Zvezda despite his age.
He made 34 appearances and scored three goals for his former side in the Serbian SuperLiga last season.
He is the first new signing of the summer for Los Che following their fourth placed finish and subsequent Champions League qualification last season.
Racic was born in Kraljevo and despite his tender age, he already made 45 first team appearances for the Belgrade side, including ten appearances in the Europa League.
His Serbian under-21 coach Goran Djorovic described Racic as a “very technical footballer and an excellent boy who has all the qualities to succeed.”
He said; “I have followed this boy a lot and I know his potential. He has good technique, he knows where to position himself, he is very competitive and has the qualities to play in Spain.”
