Antione Griezmann and Lucas Hernandez have both signed long-term contracts at Atletico Madrid.
Griezmann announced last week in a rather controversial style, that his decision was that he would stay at the Wanda Metropolitano, and he has signed a contract lasting until 2023. Hernandez has signed a five-year contract, lasting until 2024.
Both are on International duty with France, and both featured in their 2-1 victory over Australia, with Griezmann scoring from the penalty spot.
Griezmann scored 19 goals and created nine in 32 La Liga appearances, as well as scoring a brace, as Los Rojiblancos won the Europa League against Marseille in May. Griezmann arrived to Madrid in 2014 from Real Sociedad for a fee of £27m, and has gone on to make 142 appearances for the Madrid outfit and found the net on 79 occassions.
Hernandez has moved up in the ranks of Atletico’s youth system as he joined their academy in 2007, at the age of 11. His first-team debut came in December 2014, as he played a full 90 minutes in a 3-0 win against CE L’Hospitalet in the Copa Del Rey.
A couple of weeks later, he made his La Liga debut as he came on as a substitute in a 4-1 victory against Athletic Bilbao. This season, has made 27 La Liga appearances.
