Napoli are understood to be in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign Celta Vigo midfielder, Stanislav Lobotka, according to reports in the Spanish press.
Reports suggest that talks between the clubs are on-going, but the midfielder’s €50 million release clause has not been activated by the Serie A side.
The 23-year old has been ever present in La Liga this season for Celta Vigo notching up 38 appearances since joining from Danish club Nordsjaelland last summer.
Lobotka has impressed for both club and country since his €5 million move and was subsequently awarded a new contract in February, where he extended his deal until 2021 at Estadio Balaidos and increase his release clause.
Interest has always been around the Slovakian midfielder with Inter Milan having their advances knocked back in January whilst the player also confirming interest from a mystery English Premier League club to Pravda, back in Slovakia.
The Naples-based club have apparently lodged an offer in the region of €35 million, which includes bonuses, but Celta will try to maximise as much profit as they can.
Joining Lobotka at the Serie A club could be Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz of Real Betis, who has arrived in Italy to finalise his move from the Benito Villamarin.
