Napoli have made a third and improved bid for Valencia winger Santi Mina, according to various reports.
It is believed the Italian Serie A runners-up are in the hunt for a striker this summer with their Polish star man Arkadiusz Milik suffering consistently with injuries and Dries Mertens – coming into the twilight of his career; and the Naples based club are looking to freshen up their squad.
Santi Mina enjoyed his best football with Valencia last season following his €10 million move from Celta Vigo in 2015.
In fact, it was his best season in his professional career. Having scored 15 goals in 38 appearances, the Galician is well regarded by Valencia manager Marcelino. On top of his 15 goals, Mina also chipped in with four assists for his teammates.
The 22 year old is seen as a necessary player in this Valencia squad as they look to compete in the Champions League next season. The attention he has attracted is unsurprising considering the promise he showed at an early age with Celta Vigo. Last season was seen as his ‘coming of age’ year however.
Napoli were willing to part with €15-18 million earlier this week but a second bid was rejected by Los Che.
The club have been willing to let a number of players leave the club however. Within this group, includes Juventus-bound Joao Cancelo and Chinese Super League rejecting Simone Zaza. There is a need for Los Che to accumulate money from player sales as they look to add more additions to their squad with Kevin Gameiro already agreeing terms along with Goncalo Guedes who was on loan last season.
