Long having been the subject of jokes and laughter about their low attendances and pathetic support, Getafe have turned things around since returning to LaLiga.
MARCA claim that the club have already seen 65% of season ticket holders renew their seats for next season, representing 8,000 of the 12,500 tickets which sold out last season.
5,000 of those sales have come online via a new club ticket portal created to handle renewals after incredible demand last season left the ticket office unable to cope.
With two months left until the start of the season, Getafe expect the remaining 4,500 tickets to fly off the shelves quickly before reaching general sale to any new ticket holders.
As such, the club have set up a waiting list in preparation for fans who are unfortunate enough to miss out on a ticket at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
Jose Bordalas’ team far surpassed expectations in their first season back in the top flight, competing for Europe and securing a comfortable top half finish despite being one of the favourites to be relegated when the season kicked off.
Whilst not exactly easy on the eye, the rough and ready style of football on display worked wonders when it came to getting results and Getafe fans are clearly optimistic of another successful season in the south of Madrid in 2018/19.
