Mariano’s Sevilla exit covered by Corchia move

Sevilla have made a move for Sebastien Corchia as they seek to replace outgoing Mariano, according to reports.

The Andalusian side have been handed a problem in the fact that Brazilian defender Mariano looks set to leave the club to join Turkish side Galatasaray.

El Desmarque have reported that the 31-year-old, whose contract expires next season will leave due to taking up a non-EU slot in the squad.

Whilst the club don’t want him to leave due to his performances – they have looked to bring in a replacement in the name of Sebastien Corchia from French side Lille.

The talented full-back is available at around £6m due his contract expiring next summer and is seemingly interested in a move.

“Sevilla are a club who are big and very interesting,” Corchia is reported as telling the press.

“La Liga is an incredible competition, but I do not know anything, only my representatives know what’s happening right now.”

Corchia joined Lille from Sochaux, having had a spell with Le Mans previous to that.

He has been capped by France’s senior international side, appearing in November 2016 against the Ivory Coast.
