Malaga are keen on bringing Jorge Molina to the club this summer as they look to bounce back following relegation to La Liga 123.
The 36-year-old striker is no doubt one of Spanish football’s most consistent goal-scorers and it seems the Andalusian side have chosen him as the key to gaining promotion back to La Liga at the first try next season.
An awful season for Malaga saw them finish rock bottom of the pile in La Liga, suffering relegation and be forced to undergo a squad revamp this summer.
Molina spent last term with Getafe, scoring seven times in 21 starts for the Madrid based side and impressing with his performances which added experience.
Malaga’s current attacking options are few and far between with Youssef En-Nesyri as their only real recognised goalscorer, meaning Molina’s potential arrival could really bolster Juan Muniz’ options for next season.
Molina arguably had his best career spell with Real Betis, where he scored 66 goals in 180 league games, partnering with Ruben Castro.
Whilst the striker is approaching his latter 30’s, he has shown very little sign of retiring and given his performances with Getafe last term – Malaga could be extremely happy with gaining his signature next season.
