The seats of Vicente Calderon are now being distributed to fans of the club who occupied the seats as demolition begins.
Atletico Madrid officials have now contacted more than 25,000 season ticket holders that their seats are now available for collection after demolition works began at the clubs old stadium.
Each season ticket holder will now attend an appointment to collect their seat, which will hold a historic memory and will receive it in a commemorative display box, outlining some of the most memorable moments at the club’s old ground.
In addition, those fans who were not season ticket holders and will be able to purchase random seats from the club’s official stores at the new Wanda Metropolitano, Gran Via and Tres Aguas.
The Vicente Calderon stadium was the home stadium of Atleti since its completion in 1966 to 2017, with a current seating capacity of 54,907 and located on the banks of the Manzanares, in the Arganzuela district of Madrid.
It has since been replaced by the Wanda Metropolitano, which 66, 591 and has already hosted the Spanish national team who faced Argentina last year and the Copa del Rey final last season, which saw Barcelona thrash Sevilla in Andres Iniesta’s last game at the club.
