Mathias Jensen has rejected a deal from Ajax in order to pursue a move to Celta Vigo, according to reports in Danish press.
Several media outlets in Denmark have claimed that Jensen has turned down an approach from the Dutch side after receiving interest from the Spanish club, who are keen to keep their Danish connections going.
Having had Michael Krohn-Dehli, now at Sevilla, at the club in the past, Jensen is now in talks to make a move to the Balaidos.
Jensen is 22-years-old and his current club Nordsjaelland, where he scored 12 goals in 33 games and captained the side.
Various reports claim that Celta have agreed terms in principle with the agent of Jensen, and it is now down to the clubs to agree a transfer figure.
English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have previously shown serious interest in the midfielder, whilst a whole host of Italian clubs have shown interest prior to Celta’s advanced talks.
Jensen won the ‘Talent of the Year 2017’ with the Danish Football Association, and was named captain, leading to him winning the Player of the Year last term.
The midfielder has featured the Danish national side at various ages, including U18, U19, U20 and U21.
