Jose Arnaiz’s impressive form for Barcelona B was one of few positives for Barcelona’s second teams last season, with the former Real Valladolid man’s breakthrough campaign even earning him a role in the first team squad at times.
Now, SPORT report that the winger could head out on loan to Getafe in order to experience regular first team football in the top flight, something that he may struggle to achieve at Camp Nou.
In reaction to the speculation, Barcelona quickly reacted to deny the rumours, via SPORT, but it would appear that such an agreement is not entirely off the cards.
The 23-year-old scored three goals for the first team in four Copa del Rey games, also making a La Liga debut against Levante in January, just before he suffered a serious muscle injury which sidelined him for the rest of the campaign.
Now back fighting for fitness, Arnaiz may consider first team football an exciting idea, particularly as Barcelona continue to be linked to forwards and wide men who could stunt his progress and limit his role within Ernesto Valverde’s plans for 2018/19.
Getafe are looking to strengthen with a renewal of their attacking set-up, despite an impressive 2017/18 campaign, and Arnaiz may be key to bringing youth and energy to their front line.
