William Carvalho is set to move to Real Betis this summer, becoming their fourth signing.
The La Liga side are prepared to pay up to 20m euros for the Portuguese international, who cancelled his contract at Sporting Lisbon last month.
Portugal international Rui Patricio, Daniel Podence, William Carvalho, Bruno Fernandes, Gelson Martins and Dost have all cancelled their contracts with the Portuguese club in May after several fall outs with the club owner.
According to Record, Betis are about to complete a deal which will see them land the defensive midfielder and join Pau Lopez, Inui and Sergio Canales as the new signings at the club this summer.
Whilst Sporting have attempted to lure Carvalho back to the club – Betis are said to have arranged a friendly with Sporting to appease any problems.
Lorenzo Serra, the Andalusian club’s vice president, is said to have negotiated a deal which will see 15 million euros paid up front and the rest in variables.
His arrival will add experience and depth to Betis’ side, ahead of the new La Liga campaign which will include a Europa League stint for the club after Quique Setien guided them to a good finish in the league last term.
