Atletico Madrid have agreed a transfer fee with AC Milan for Croatian striker Nikola Kalinic.
The Croatian striker joining Atleti will pave way for Kevin Gameiro to leave for Valencia and in turn – Simone Zaza to Milan.
Kalinic, who scored just six goals in 31 games for the Serie A side – is now said to be moving to the Wanda Metropolitano in a €29m deal and earn €3m per year in salary.
His arrival comes after a strange World Cup campaign with his country, seeing him axed from the side by coach Zlatko Dalic and set home by the Croatian FA for refusing to enter the field as a substitute earlier in the competition.
His replacement at Milan is expected to be Zaza, who is set for a return to his homeland after negotiating a four-year contract to move to the San Siro, leaving Los Che boss Marcelino with a void in attack to fill this summer.
According to “Gazzeta Dello Sport”, the agreement will see Zaza earn €2.5m per season at his new club but his sealed deal must await confirmation of Kalinic’s move to La Liga.
Zaza was in superb form last season, helping Valencia to a top four finish and push the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid for the second placed spot behind league leaders Barcelona.
