N’Golo Kante to hand in transfer request after World Cup; prompts Madrid linksJuly 9, 2018
La Liga News UK understands that N’Golo Kante is ready to hand in a transfer request at Chelsea, prompting speculation that he could join Real Madrid this summer.
The dynamic French international was one of few men to come out of Chelsea’s 2017/18 campaign with any praise but failure to qualify for the Champions League may mean that the former Leicester man could consider his future.
It is hard to see where he would fit in at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Casemiro having monopolised the role of holding midfielder, but sources from France continue to suggest that Kante could be on the move and we understand that he is ready to hand in a request.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is a hard negotiator and would not want to lose one of his key men, who Antonio Conte’s replacement may look to build a team around in the future.
Kante’s quality has been clear ever since he moved to the Premier League and his all round play in the middle of the park would be an attractive option for any club, but we will have to wait and see if either believes that such a deal is even vaguely possible to the extent that they make a bid for him.
