Real Madrid have to rearrange fixture due to Club World Cup

The 2018-19 season fixtures were released yesterday and already Los Blancos are needing to change one of their fixtures with it possibly being two games that are rearranged.

Real Madrid’s game against Villarreal is set to take place on the 22nd of December at the Estadio de la Ceramica, however Madrid are going to be participating in the FIFA club World Cup at the same time in the United Arab Emirates due to the fact they won the UEFA Champions League last season.

This isn’t the first time that this has happened to Madrid as they have had to do it for the previous seasons, Last season was the game against Sevilla that had to be changed from the Sunday and was brought forward by 24 hours.

That could also happen this season or Los Blancos might ask La Liga officials to also move their game against Rayo Vallecano the week before so they can prepare for the club World Cup better, If that was to be the case the fixtures would be played midweek while there is no European football happening or Copa del Rey games occurring.

The Game against Vallecano couldn’t be moved to the Friday as Real Madrid would have just played their final group stage match of the season.
