New Barcelona signing Malcom who was set to sign for Roma, but at the eleventh hour his move was hijacked by the Catalan club – was apparently offered to Real Madrid.
Malcom’s agent Kia Joorabchian has denied that the player had been offered to Real Madrid, however several sources have confirmed that he did in fact offer the player to Real Madrid and also Manchester United according to AS.
However Los Blancos didn’t press on with the move as they believe that Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio will be the ones that occupy the space on the right wing next season. With the opposite side potentially being taken up by a new signing or Marco Asensio will take up the place.
If Malcom had decided to join Real Madrid it would be seen as a Bale replacement who in turn would have become Cristiano Ronaldo’s natural successor.
The 21 year old instead had agreed to join Roma and was announced by the club on Monday, however as reported here on La Liga news UK his move was hijacked and has since gone onto sign for Madrid’s league rivals Barcelona.
If Real can’t find a replacement for Ronaldo and; Bale or Asensio were to get injured it would be a real problem for Julen Lopetegui to be in and missing out on Malcom could prove to be a big mistake by Los Blancos.
