Real Madrid Castilla 0-3 Rayo Vallecano: Beltran blow shows no sign of impact on the pitch

Rayo Vallecano secured an impressive victory over Segunda Division B side Real Madrid Castilla at Valdebebas thanks to a first half goal from Joni Montiel before Oscar Trejo and Javi Guerra added second-half strikes.

History was made too as Real Madrid Castilla wore their away kit at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano for the first time ever as Rayo Vallecano requested given that they could not source their new away kit in time for the match.

The visitors dominated possession and looked to be a class above, as would be expected by a side two tiers higher, despite having been rocked earlier in the day with news of an exit for midfielder Fran Beltran.

There was no place for latest new signing Luis Advincula despite his presentation at Vallecas on Wednesday morning, but the team didn’t miss him with the likes of Alex Moreno shining alongside new signings including Gael Kakuta and Jose Pozo.

After fine finishes from Montiel, created by Pozo, and Trejo finished off an impressive team move, Guerra added a far post header to put the icing on the cake.
