Carlos Vigaray has expressed his delight at returning to full fitness with Alaves after injury problems.
The 23-year-old right back has struggled with injuries of late, having suffered an initial injury in November 2017 which kept him out of action for 12 games, missing the middle of the season.
On his return in January, the defender suffered a second knee problem, seeing him miss the remainder of the season and a total of 29 games during the season.
Having returned to full fitness and being cleared by club doctors last month, the former Getafe man is now battling to force his way back into Abelardo’s plans for the new season.
He will now battle it out with Martin Aguirregabiria for the starting place, whilst with his contract expiring next summer – his impression will have to be further felt to earn a new deal.
Sweating on Burgui’s fitness
The former Real Madrid winger was forced off in the friendly against Oviedo due to injury and medical reports will now determine the extent of the problem.
Burgui has been in superb form over the summer and he will be a sore miss for the season opener with Barcelona should his injury keep him out for a long period.
