Real Betis have a number of injury problems heading into the La Liga opener with Levante on Friday evening.
A whole host of first team regulars have been unable to fully training so far this week, whilst new signing William Carvalho is a doubt.
It has been a busy pre-season for the Andalusian side, who prepare for the upcoming season which will feature a return to European action after qualifying for the Europa League.
Boss Quique Setien is hoping for a positive start against Levante on Friday night at the Benito Villamarin stadium, but captain Joaquin, Javi Garcia, Junior Firpo, Cristian Tello and Carvalho are doubts.
Whilst the full extent of each player’s injury problems are not yet known, medical staff are now rushing to get them fit for the start of the new season.
Carvalho, who arrived from Sporting CP earlier this summer – did return to play a part in Monday afternoon’s session, giving Setien some good news ahead of the fixture against Levante.
It has been a busy summer of recruitment by Setien, bringing in the likes of Carvalho and Takashi Inui, who performed at a really high level for Japan at the World Cup this summer in Russia.
