Filipe Luis desperate to join Paris Saint Germain

Filipe Luis is desperate to leave Atletico Madrid and join Paris Saint Germain, according to reports.

AS claim that the 32 year-old is unhappy at the club following last Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup win over Real Madrid where he was overlooked for Lucas Hernandez, as well as not being chosen as one of the squad’s captains following Gabi’s move to Qatari side Al Sadd SC. AS believe that Luis is set to sign a two year deal at the French club, with the option of a further season.

Should PSG make a move for the former Chelsea player, the newspaper understand that they need to offer more money before personal terms can be discussed. The current Ligue 1 champions have offered €5 million for Luis, however Atleti are pushing for €12-15 million.

Luis has lived in Spain for 13 years. His first taste of league football was a season-long loan deal at Real Madrid, spending his time with Los Blancos’ B-team in the Segunda Division. Real decided against signing Luis permanently, claiming that his parent club, Rentistas were asking for too much money.

A two-year loan deal at Deportivo La Coruna followed, and the deal was made permanent following the end of the agreement. Luis spent another two years at the Riazor before signing for Atleti in a €12 million deal in 2010.

The Brazilian has remained with the capital side since, with an ill-fated spell with Chelsea during the 2014/15 season where he featured 15 times for the London club. He has featured 301 times for Los Rojiblancos.
