Getafe vs Eibar – Coliseum Alfonso Perez – Friday 24th August – Kick off 7:15pm GMT
The opening match of Jornada two in La Liga sees Getafe welcome Eibar to Madrid on Friday evening with both sides aiming to bounce back from opening day defeats.
Getafe were given the daunting task of starting the season away at Real Madrid, but to their credit they more than held their own in the Bernabeu, only going down 2-0.
Visitors Eibar on the other hand suffered a shock defeat at home to league debutants Huesca with an Alex Gallar double helping them to a 2-1 win at Ipurua.
This match represents a quick reunion with old teammates for Getafe winger Ivan Alejo, the 23-year old having left the Basques in the summer. He made his debut for the Madrid side as a second half substitute in that loss to Real and will be hoping to get a start this time against his former club.
Last year’s two meetings were far from entertaining, with just one goal scored in the two games, Getafe’s Mathias Olivera scoring the winner at Ipurua after a 0-0 draw in the first clash.
Getafe boss Jose Bordalas will have been happy with what he saw last week and likely make few changes if any with a fully fit squad to pick from, with the exception of Markel Bergara, who is still out after injuring his arm in pre-season.
Eibar will be without Fabian Orellana with a thigh injury with Pedro Leon also out through injury. Other than that, Jose Luis Mendilibar has the pick of his squad with Marc Cardona now available to make his debut.
Getafe (4-4-2): Soria; Damian, Djene, Bruno, Cabrera; Portillo, Arambarri, Maksimovic, Amath; Molina, Angel
Eibar (4-4-2): Dmitrovic; Pena, Oliveira, Bigas, Angel; Bebe, Escalante, Diop, Jordan; Charles, Enrich
Getafe 1-1 Eibar
