Valencia held a meeting on Sunday evening to discuss a new offer to Paris Saint Germain for Goncalo Guedes.
The Portuguese international was excluded from the French side’s pre-season tour of Singapore last month and is now training on his own in Paris.
Having spent last season on loan with Los Che, Guedes was consistently good, impressing enough to warrant a place for his country at the World Cup in Russia this summer.
Despite his form, PSG have remained intent on selling him to recoup some funds to meet Financial Fair Play demands, which they are reportedly short of £30-£40m.
Multiple reports in Spain now confirm that Valencia are still interested, despite claims they would struggle fund a move.
That being said, it is understood that they are actively trying to negotiate a deal where they pay for Guedes in installments, thus being able to balance the books.
Another meeting between club officials was held on Sunday – but time will now tell this week to see whether a deal can be done or not.
His agent Jorge Mendes and the club owner Peter Lim watched on as Los Che lost to Espanyol and it is understood that they met with sporting director Mateu Alemany about a renewed offer.
