Villarreal boss Javi Calleja has said he was satisfied with one point against Sevilla on Sunday.
For a 0-0 draw, Sunday evening’s tie between Sevilla and Villarreal at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan was a great game and saw both side share 34 attempts on goal in a free flowing encounter.
The point for the Yellow Submarine means they have their first point of the season after losing on the opening day to Real Sociedad.
Calleja, spoke after the game and said: “I am satisfied with one point against a difficult team.”
The Spanish tactician also praised his players for their efforts in what was a hot Seville.
“During the game, we kept a clean sheet and we must merit that. It was an even match, although we had chances to score. My players were outstanding, it was hot and we worked hard.”
New arrivals a possibility before Friday
With less than a week to go until the transfer window closes, Villarreal are still looking to add players with Calleja not closing the door on new arrivals.
Bruno Soriano’s injury has left Calleja with limited options in the midfield area and it is understood that the club are looking at a number of options.
Rumoured interest in Ramirez, formerly of Chelsea has come about, although Benfica are also interested in the Brazilian midfielder, who currently plays in the Chinese Super League.
With three days remaining, the race is now on to bring in a new face.
