Eibar have signed Argentine midfielder Pablo De Blasis from Bundesliga side Mainz on a two year deal.
The 30-year old has spent the last five seasons with the German club, scoring 17 goals in 115 appearances with 15 assists also to his name.
De Blasis, the smallest player in the Bundesliga last season, passed his medical at the Basque club on Wednesday before penning paper on his contract which sees him join the club until 2020.
Eibar’s official website described the midfielder as fast with good control of the ball and a great ‘sacrifice capacity’.
His arrival however was also coupled with the departure of centre back Alex Galvez.
Galvez joined Eibar in the 2016/17 season and played 31 games for the club in that time as well as spending the second half of last season on loan at Las Palmas.
He had fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of Pedro Bigas, a player he played with at Las Palmas last season, and Jose Luis Mendilibar told the player he wasn’t in his plans and the club and player came to a mutaual termination of the contract.
Fabian Orellana has recovered from the injury that kept him out of last week’s defeat to Getafe while Ivan Ramis will be back training soon but Kike Garcia is out for two to three weeks with a leg injury that kept him out of training on Wednesday.
Eibar have also announced that they will face Ligue 1 side Toulouse in a friendly in France on Thursday 6th September with the international break that weekend.
