Barcelona vs Huesca – Camp Nou – Sunday 2nd September 2018 – Kick off 5:30pm GMT
Barcelona will be looking for their third consecutive win when they take on Huesca at the Camp Nou. Ernesto Valverde’s team are coming off the back of a tough win against Real Valladolid. The pitch conditions made the headlines but the Blaugrana were still able to come away with the victory.
Ousmane Dembélé was Barcelona’s stand out player against Valladolid and was one of the few who adjusted to field conditions. It is an easy bet to assume he will start again on Sunday.
Valverde could use this home game as an opportunity to rotate. Luis Suarez has yet to look his best and some of the new faces, like Arthur, have not featured much. The manager has options but it is up to him if he uses them or not.
On the other side, Huesca have been the surprise team so far.
Huesca won their opening match, 2-1, against Eibar and a wonderful goal by Ezequiel Ávila against Athletic Bilbao earned his team a draw.
They currently sit sixth in the standings with four points, ahead of teams such as Atletico Madrid and Valencia.
This game marks the first time these two sides will meet in the league. Previously, they met in the round of 32 of the Copa del Rey, where Barcelona won by an aggregate of 12-1.
Barcelona will still be without back-up keeper, Jasper Ciillesen, who is still nursing a rib injury. They will also be without Carles Aleña, who only recently started training, as well as Denis Suarez and Sergi Samper.
For Huesca, their only absence will be their right-back, Carlos Akapo, who is still serving a three-game suspension from a red card when the team was still in the Second Division.
