Alaves v Espanyol: Tricky encounter as hosts look to pick up first win

Alaves vs Espanyol – Mendizorroza Stadium – Sunday 2nd September – Kick off 3:15pm GMT

Alaves welcome Espanyol to the Mendizorroza on Sunday afternoon still looking for their first league win of the season.

El Glorioso go into the game having picked up their first point of the season in a goalless draw with Real Betis last Saturday. Three second half goals at the Nou Camp ensured that Alaves started the new season with a loss and will be hoping to trip up an Espanyol side who are continuing their strong run from last season.

Rubi’s men remain unbeaten in the league having won their last three games of the 17/18 term. A 1-1 draw away to Celta Vigo in Jornada one was followed by a surprising 2-0 win against Valencia last Sunday at the RCDE Stadium. The Barcelona side currently sit in fourth position, two points behind their neighbours.
