Youngster Riqui Puig has been included in Barcelona’s Champions League squad for the Group Stages.
Puig, who impressed heavily over the pre-season, featuring and gaining plaudits during the International Champions Cup – has been wetting the appetite of Barca fans for some-time and this could very well turn into his breakthrough season.
Puig has not featured for the La Liga champions so far this season and has instead been gaining minutes with the club’s B side in the third division, but his inclusion int he Champions League squad could lead to him gaining some minutes in European competition in the coming weeks.
Arturo Vidal is having problems with a knee injury, which has troubled him previously in his career.
The Chilean international only moved to Barca this summer after spells with Juventus and Bayern Munich, but he is already having trouble with a knee issue which has caused problems in the past.
Having featured sparingly for the Catalan side so far this season; Vidal is currently on international duty with his country as they prepare to face Japan in a friendly on Friday evening.
Vidal was forced to sit out training with Chile on Wednesday due to the problem and will now be assessed and doctors are said to decide whether or not to return him to Barcelona.
