Barcelona officials are said to be growing concerned by Gerard Pique’s off-field antics, which saw him face a driving penalty.
Catalan newspaper Diario Sport report that officials at the club are beginning to question Pique’s role of fourth captain and his future ambitions of playing a role behind the scenes with the club.
Pique has recently been stunt by driving authorities after being caught driving without a license.
The former Spanish international has also upset officials at the club after he owned the studio in which Antoine Griezmann used to announce his future at Atletico Madrid this summer.
The club are said to be worried by these issues, which they feel will reflect badly on Barca’s image.
The defender has been in good form of late and had a very good season last term, helping the club win La Liga and the Copa del Rey, renewing in his contract in the process until 2022.
The club’s spokesman Josep Vives has confirmed they are not going to take action against the central defender and have said that he has to solve the problems himself.
Boss Ernesto Valverde has also spent time speaking with the player about the problems, claiming he is fully focused on the season ahead for Barca.
