Iago Aspas has become Celta Vigo’s most capped Spanish international after featuring in the 2-1 win over England.
Aspas, who replaced Diego Costa in Luis Enrique’s first Spain squad – appeared for his country in the win over England at Wembley at the weekend and is now the most capped player to represent Celta.
Aspas has 14 international caps in total, one more than former Manchester City and now Sevilla man, Nolito.
Spain face Croatia on Tuesday evening looking to make it two wins out of two in the UEFA Nations League.
Jensen relishing Celta debut
New Celta Vigo signing Mathias Jensen is relishing his debut for the club after receiving the medical green light.
The Danish U21 international arrived at the Galician club this summer, but is yet to make his debut after being ruled out with an injury.
After receiving a medical discharge from club doctors last week, the midfielder appeared for his country and is now ready to appear for his new club.
Having signed for five years with Celta, Jensen will feature for Denmark U21 in their game against Lithuania on Tuesday, before being made available for the weekend return to league action.
His recovery further increases Antonio Mohamed’s competition for places and falls perfectly with the club’s good start to the domestic season.
