Real Sociedad vs Barcelona: Anoeta reopens with Barcelona visit

Real Sociedad vs Barcelona – Anoeta – Saturday 15th September – Kick off 3:15pm GMT

The Anoeta will host La Liga football for the first time since its makeover when Barcelona visit to take on hosts Real Sociedad on Saturday afternoon.

The running track around the pitch was ripped up at over the summer with new stands built closer to the pitch to improve the atmosphere in San Sebastian.

Sociedad have played their first three games of the season away from home, picking up a total of four points, so will be looking forward to their return home but it will be a tough game against the La Liga champions.

Barcelona are one of two teams, Real Madrid being the other, to have a 100% record after three games following wins over Alaves, Real Valladolid and Huesca but will be tested at what has proven to be a difficult venue for the Catalans in previous years.

In fact last year’s 4-2 win there was Barca’s first in La Liga since 2007. They also won the second meeting at the Camp Nou by a goal to nil as well as both legs of their Copa del Rey clash.
