Inaki Williams’ goal-scoring drought at the San Mames continues after 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the weekend.
The young attacker is no doubt, a major threat for the Basque club but concerns are mounting over his home form after not registering a goal since December 4th, 2016.
Williams is in good form and came close to scoring on Saturday evening against Madrid, and whilst his scoring drought at home continues – his away form has been impressive, netting seven goals on the road last season.
The tough La Liga fixture list continues for Eduardo Berizzo’s men at the weekend as they travel to Seville to face Real Betis, where Williams will be hoping to get on the score sheet, before next week’s midweek game with Villarreal on the 26th.
Heading into the game with Julen Lopetegui’s Real Madrid on Saturday evening, Athletic were not favourites but they produced a solid performance to gain a point and upset Los Blancos’ impressive start to the season.
Critic has been made towards Berizzo and his style of play so far this season, but his tactical approach to the game with the Champions League winners left fans happy and Marca have gone as far to say ‘it was a night that needed to happen’ for the Basque club.
Athletic currently sit 7th in the La Liga standings on seven points from three games and remain one of four unbeaten sides.
