Getafe v Atletico Madrid: Stumbling Atleti aim to get back to winning ways against neighboursSeptember 21, 2018
Getafe vs Atletico Madrid – Coliseum Alfonso Perez – Saturday 22nd September – Kick off 5:30pm UK time
Getafe play hosts to Atletico Madrid on Saturday evening, hoping to take advantage of their local rival’s poor start to the league season.
El Geta have had a decent start to the campaign and are currently sitting three points behind one of the the other capital side’s Real Madrid in fifth place. They grabbed their second win of the season last weekend away to Sevilla, with striker Angel getting both goals for the side. A 2-0 win over Eibar as well as a goalless draw with new boys Valladolid have ensured the Azulones started their term in a positive light.
Atletico are two points behind their neighbours in ninth place and have only won once in the league so far. Having lost 2-0 away to Celta Vigo a fortnight ago, Los Colchoneros had to rely on an injury time equaliser from youngster Borja Garces to spare any blushes last weekend at home to Eibar. Atléti did pick up a comfortable 2-1 win over AS Monaco in the Champions League on Tuesday however, and will be hoping that the result will be the catalyst for a winning run.
José Bordalás has been handed a triple boost for Saturday’s clash with the news that Mauro Arambarri, Ignasi Miquel and Dakonam Djene will all be available. Former Arsenal centre back Miquel’s knee problem and his defensive colleague Djene’s nuisance have now cleared, with midfielder Arambarri’s foot discomfort also healing. Markel Bergara is a doubt for the hosts however, the 32 year-old is still nursing a head injury.
Diego Simeone will definitely be without two defenders for the weekend. Santiago Arias is still out with a fractured rib and Stefan Savic is also set to miss out with a contusion. Nikola Kalinic is a doubt with a sprained ankle and Vitolo could potentially be absent from the squad list with a sprained foot.

Atletico Madrid (4-4-2): Oblak; Juanfran, Gimenez, Godin, Lucas; Correa, Rodri, Koke, Saul; Griezmann, Diego Costa
