Real Madrid vs Espanyol – Estadio Santiago Bernabeu – Saturday 22nd September – Kick off 7:45pm UK time

It’s second versus fourth, even if it is early in the season, on Saturday night as Real Madrid host Espanyol on matchday five of La Liga.

Real have recovered from last season’s calamity and the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo to make a strong start to this season in the league and Europe with their only dropped points coming in a draw away at Athletic Bilbao.

Their opponents Espanyol have also began the season brightly with two wins from their four games, losing just once away at Alaves meaning they sit in the top four ahead of the likes of Atletico Madrid.

Last season saw Espanyol pick up their first win over Los Blancos since 2007 with a last minute Gerard Moreno goal helping them win 1-0 at the RCDE Stadium but Real won the other meeting, 2-0 at the Bernabeu.
