Espanyol host Eibar on Tuesday evening at the RCDE stadium where either side could move to third with a win and a significant shift in results.
The Catalan hosts are enjoying a solid start to the season and they almost snatched a point against Real Madrid at the weekend, losing narrowly, 1-0, at the Santiago Bernabeu.
From the first five La Liga rounds, Espanyol have gained seven points in some good entertaining games and it is expected that Tuesday’s fixture with Eibar will be no different.
A key to Espanyol’s form has been their solidness a the back, conceding just four goals so far, however, their forwards are looking to improve – netting just five.
At the RCDE stadium this season, the hosts have not conceded and have not lost – meaning they are arguably favourites.
Eibar have had a similar start, however, having not lost in their last three games but they do concede more than their opponents.
Jose Luis Mendilibar’s side are looking to further improve on their position last season and will be looking to get a good result on Tuesday, before facing Sevilla at the weekend.
Following Tuesday’s game, Espanyol will then prepare to face Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.
