The crisis at the Mestalla showed no signs of alleviating after Iago Aspas’ late strike continued their run without a win this season.

On-loan striker Michy Batshuayi opened his scoring account during the middle of the first half drilling a low drive deep inside the left post.

The Belgian collected a killer pass inside the box, leaving him one-on-one against the goalkeeper.

Los Che enjoyed a dominant first half display with right back Cristiano Piccini wasting an effort after his low shot was blocked.

The Celtico’s best chance came through winger Okay Yokuslu who sliced his effort narrowly wide of the right post from the edge hof the box.

Second half

Celta Vigo were a different side after the break and went close on the hour mark when Francisco Beltran missed by a whisker after latching on to a rebound.

Key winger, Pione Sisto had a dangerous free kick saved by goalkeeper Neto from 25 yards out.

With eight minutes to go Vigo’s main man and second all-time top scorer Aspas rose highest to nod home the ball into the bottom right hand corner beating the outstretched arm of the keeper from a beautiful lifted cross David Junca.
