Sevilla boss Pablo Machin has dedicated the win over Eibar to those hurt as a barrier collapsed during the game.
Machin’s side produced a superb second half display to beat Eibar 3-1 on Saturday evening and continue their impressive run of form.
After their impressive thumping of Real Madrid in mid-week, Pablo Machin’s side went into the game at the Ipurua with a lot of confidence and it showed in their performance.
The home side did manage to keep the Andalusian side at bay during the opening 45 minutes, despite Andre Silva’s best efforts to break the deadlock.
However, within two minutes of the restart – Silva struck and continued his impressive form.
Before the hour mark, Ever Banega would get himself on the score-sheet, finishing off a superb penalty to double the visitors’ lead, and he added a third deep into the nine minutes of injury time.
The Basque hosts did have a little to celebrate as they scored a late consolation goal through Joan Jordan, but the game was done and dusted, seeing Sevilla move just one point off league leaders Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Machin, who spoke with reporters following the game, spoke about the incident which saw part of the away section collapse and see a number of fans rushed to hospital.
“We offer this victory to them, I hope they can see us again soon. It is a shame that we could not keep a clean sheet.
“We played a very good game against a good team, that physically demands a lot. That plan however, has gone perfectly.”
