Espanyol vs Villarreal – RCDE Stadium – Sunday 7th October – Kick-off 5.30pm UK time
Villarreal will be hoping to carry their never-say-die attitude from the Europa League into their struggling La Liga form.
Santi Cazorla scored a 96th minute equaliser against Spartak Moscow on Thursday to earn them a crucial point.
But they currently languish in 15th in the Spanish top-flight following their defeat to La Liga newcomers Real Valladolid last weekend.
Their hosts on Sunday, Espanyol, are currently riding high in seventh after two wins in four matches.
Expect another hard fought match on both sides, after neither could be separated in last season’s two games.
Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno will be expected to start when he takes on his former club Espanyol for the first time.
But the Yellow Submarine will be without Santiago Caseres, Javi Fuego and Bruno Soriano for the trip north to Catalonia.
It is a different story for Espanyol as they head in the match without any injury or suspension concerns.
Espanyol (4-3-3): Diego Lopez; Javi Lopez, David Lopez, Hermoso, Didac; Granero, Marc Roca, Darder; Baptistao, Iglesias, Sergio Garcia.
Villarreal (4-4-2): Asenjo; Layun, Alvaro, Victor Ruiz, Costa; Fornals, Funes Mori, Trigueros, Cazorla; Bacca, Gerard.
