Ibai Gomez has opened up about his future which sees his contract expiring next summer with Alaves.
The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder has been in superb form this season for the Basque side and has gained plenty of interest from a number of onlooking Spanish and European sides.
With his current deal at Alaves set to expire in June 2019, clubs are allowed to freely talk to the 28-year-old from January 1st and that is now becoming a bit of a concern.
Interest from former club Athletic and Real Sociedad has been cited in Spanish reports, whilst a number of other Spanish clubs have been linked.
Ibai Gomez spent six seasons at San Mames, appearing 145 times for Bilbao, before he left for Alaves.
Talks have taken place between the player and Alaves about extending his current deal at the Mendizorrotza, but an agreement is said to be some way off.
Having been aware of his deal, Ibai has been vocal on social media lately, telling the club that they know what to do about his contract, something our very own Campbell Finlayson reported on over the weekend.
Alaves have had a superb season so far and currently sit near the top of the table, along with usual contenders Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.
