Gareth Bale’s injury problems have come back to haunt at Real Madrid and he is now training alone.
The Welsh winger was forced to miss Wales’ international games with Spain and the Republic of Ireland and doubts over his fitness for the upcoming El Clasico are now beginning to mount.
Wales failed to beat Spain, losing 4-1 in a friendly, before they beat Ireland in their Nations League match thanks to a goal from Harry Wilson.
Bale sustained an injury in last month’s Madrid derby with Atletico Madrid but did feature against Alaves recently, however, fresh concerns over his fitness have emerged.
The former Tottenham Hotspur forward was forced to train alone on Tuesday as Madrid are still yet to give a report on his availability.
There does exist a serious question regarding Bale and his persistent injuries however. Since joining the club, Bale has suffered 17 different injuries.
In the 2016/2017 season, he missed over 50% of games through injury alone – this excludes being left out of games, whilst he struggled last season.
Real Madrid, who has not scored in four games now – host Levante at the weekend, hoping to recapture their form.
Julen Lopetegui’s side sits fourth in the La Liga table, behind Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and league leaders, Sevilla.
