Real Madrid have called former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to discuss him potentially replacing Julen Lopetegui.
Florentino Perez has told Lopetegui he has to beat Barcelona to remain in charge of the club.
The former Spain boss has not seen his side score in their last three La Liga games and suffered a 1-0 defeat in the Champions League to CSKA Moscow.
That form has led to a call for a change, despite Lopetegui only being in charge since the start of the summer when he sensationally was sacked from his international role with La Roja just moments before the World Cup in Russia.
Perez, who sold Cristiano Ronaldo this summer and failed to bring in a replacement – has now opted to look for suitable replacements.
Former player Santiago Solari has been mentioned in Spanish reports, whilst Conte, who has previously been linked with the job at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Correire dello Sport have reported on their front pages that Conte has been called by Perez to discuss the job role, putting even more pressure on Lopetegui ahead of Saturday’s game with Levante.
Los Blancos have taken time to re-group during the international break before hosting the Valencian based side this weekend, Viktoria Plzen the following mid-week and then – El Clasico against bitter rivals Barcelona.
