Rayo Vallecano vs Getafe – Campo de Futbol de Vallecas – Sunday 21st October – Kick off 11am UK time
Sunday’s early kick off sees Getafe make the short trip to the Vallecas to face a Rayo Vallecano side who find themselves in the bottom three.
Both sides lost their last game before the international break by a goal to nil, Rayo in another derby at Leganes and Getafe at home to Levante and will be looking to bounce back with a win on Sunday.
Three points for the hosts could see them climb out of the drop zone depending on results elsewhere over the weekend while Getafe know that a win would see them move into the top half of the league.
These sides last met in the Segunda in 2017 with Getafe winning 1-0 at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez thanks to a last minute Jose Antonio Dorado own goal but the earlier meeting that season had went the way of Rayo with a 2-0 win.
Rayo are without Alvaro Medran who has an Achilles injury, Gorka Elustondo with a hamstring problem and Tito with synovitis in his knee. Raul De Tomas has trained normally however is expected to lead the line on Sunday.
Getafe boss Jose Bordalas said in his press conference that Markel Bergara is much better and may make the squad for Sunday, but Dakonam Djene and Francisco Portillo will miss out. He is also confident that Jaime Mata and Sergi Guardiola will be able to show their worth to the squad.
