Real Betis vs Real Valladolid – Benito Villamarín – Sunday 21st October – Kick-off 7.45pm UK time
Real Betis will host Real Valladolid in Seville this Sunday on the return from the international break.
The two sides will play the penultimate game of the weekend at the Estadio Benito Villamarín with the hosts determined to bounce back from their loss to Atlético Madrid last time out.
The defeat to Atlético ended Betis’ six-game unbeaten run in La Liga and getting back on track is a must for Los Verdiblancos with Italian giants AC Milan awaiting them four days later in the Europa League.
But it’s Valladolid who they must turn their full focus to with the newly promoted side having won their last three La Liga matches.
Los Blanquivioletas have overcome a difficult start to their first season back in the Spanish top flight division with manager Sergio González adopting a more daring and intense approach to the team’s playing style.
Betis and Valladolid are level on points in seventh place in La Liga on 12 points from eight games.
Betis manager Quique Setién will probably have to make do without Andres Guardado, who is still struggling with a hamstring injury. Therefore, William Carvalho will probably cover for the Mexican in central midfield.
Setién intends to make a last-minute call on injured duo Joaquín Sanchez and Cristian Tello for the Valladolid game. While it’s expected Junior and Francis will remain in the starting line-up considering their good form of late.
On the other side, few changes are expected by Valladolid this weekend on the back of their good run of form. Although, Croatian forward Duje Cop is injured and midfielder Oscar Plano is struggling to regain full fitness.
