Valencia boss Marcelino has admitted that he is worried by the lack of goals his side are getting after being held to Leganes on Saturday.
Los Che continued their poor start to the season with yet another draw as VAR came into use when Leganes were awarded a spot kick.
The Bats will be rueing their missed chances after dropping another two points at home. A late equaliser from left-back Jose Gaya saw Marcelino’s men continue their bad start to the season.
A rough tackle from Valencia centre back Ezequiel Garay inside the penalty box was referred to the VAR box and given on review.
Gerard Gumbau made no mistake from twelve yards, confidently beating keeper Neto striking into the bottom left pocket. A renowned penalty shot stopper, Neto was unable to save his side this time after saving his last few.
The equaliser came five minutes from time, when captain maestro Parejo showed great vision by slipping in an overlapping Gaya with a cheeky flick as the left back’s first time shot sailed into the back of the net.
The result has now got Valencia fans concerned and for the first time this season, boss Marcelino has also admitted his concern.
“We need to finish better and test the away team’s keeper more,” he told reporters. “We are worried in the sense that we are not scoring goals anymore. We have to try harder and win more on field duels, to overcome defensive situations.
“We dominated the game but we did not win.”
