Real Sociedad and Girona played to a 0-0 draw at the Estadio Anoeta on Monday evening, as neither side were able to find the break-through moment in the game. La Real will be the more frustrated of the two, as the home squad enjoyed the majority of possession and created several good opportunities at goal.
Girona goalkeeper Bono enjoyed a fantastic outing, recording eight saves and ultimately keeping the visitors in the match. The Catalans had their chances as well, but looked less effective up front with striker Cristhian Stuani in a substitute role. Seydou Doumbia started the match in Stuani’s normal spot.
Real Sociedad’s back-line certainly deserves credit as well, rarely out of position and doing well to clear out danger in their own half. Raúl Navas and Aritz Elustondo were particularly sharp in central defence, only forcing goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Moyà into making two saves.

Both sides will definitely be looking for an increased productivity from the attack ahead of their next league fixtures. Real Sociedad are currently ninth in the table, while Girona sit 15th.
Girona are set to host Rayo Vallecano this coming Saturday afternoon, with Real Sociedad travelling to the Wanda Metropolitano to battle Atlético Madrid later that same day.
