Athletic Bilbao and Valencia played out a largely forgetful 0-0 draw at San Mames on Saturday afternoon.
Heading into the game, both side’s were looking to improve their form but the home side were arguably more desperate for three points.
Eduardo Berizzo’s side have not won a game in La Liga since the opening day and their on field troubles continue after a lacklustre home performance against Los Che.
Iago Herrerin was called into action during the first half as Rodrigo tested the Basque keeper but he proved to good for the Spanish international.
Michy Batshuayi had enough chances to get himself a goal too, but the Chelsea loan star could not get himself a goal, despite having three clear cut efforts.
Athletic did have their chances but with Inaki Williams on the bench, they did not look as much as a threat as previous when the young winger has been on the field.
Iker Muniain did all he could to try and get his side in front, but even he struggled to get any good chances at Valencia keeper Neto.
The result leaves both sides in desperate need of a change of form. Athletic now sit 16th but with Villarreal and Leganes yet to play – they could end up in the bottom three by the end of the weekend.
Valencia meanwhile, are 13th and like Athletic – have just one win in 10 games this season.
