Barcelona are growing concerned over the mental state of Brazilian winger Malcom, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The former Bordeaux player was involved in a dramatic transfer switch during the summer as he was all set to join AS Roma, before making a final minute move to the Camp Nou.
Having impressed during Barca’s International Champions Cup trip to the United States over pre-season, the young winger was expected to be handed a shot by Ernesto Valverde.
However, playing time has been few and far between, making just two appearances from the substitutes bench this season, whilst he was not in the squad for the games against Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia.
Having been shunned once more for the weekend trip to Rayo Vallecano due to a call-up to Carles Alena, concerns have now led to the mental state of the youngster.
Mundo Deportivo claim that the winger – is not able to play due the feeling ‘depressed’.
Italian side Inter Milan have been labelled with interest in Spanish and Italian media outlets, whilst Premier League side Chelsea have also been claimed to have liked the player.
Roma, who almost signed Malcom before Barca’s hijack – could also re-emerge with a move in January.
